A woman was shocked when a baker agreed to her demand that he consume a loaf of mouldy bread she had purchased from him. The incident took place in China’s Guangdong province on September 2. After discovering the bread had gone mouldy the next day, the woman returned to the bakery to request a refund. She expressed concern that her child may become ill from consuming the spoiled bread. When the baker refused to provide a refund, she insisted that he eat the mouldy bread to prove its edibility. The encounter was captured in a viral video online, showing the baker consuming the bread while the woman watched in astonishment. At the end of the video, the woman stated that since the baker had eaten the bread, she no longer considered it to be an issue. The baker later speculated that the woman had not stored the bread properly, leading to its rapid mould growth. Many internet users supported the baker’s perspective, suggesting that it was the customer’s fault for not properly storing the bread.

Meanwhile, a hawker in China’s China Press gained recognition for not exploiting his striking resemblance to Mandopop singer Jay Chou for personal gain. Despite the financial opportunities that often arise for celebrity lookalikes, the hawker continued with his work of selling omelettes. A video of him making omelettes while wearing a red apron by the roadside went viral, with numerous internet users commenting on his resemblance to the Taiwanese singer. Many people were impressed by his choice to remain committed to his humble job.
