According to Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the next line-up of councillors in Selangor’s local authorities will now include representatives from Barisan Nasional. This change will take place when the current councillors’ term ends in December.
Currently, local authorities have councillors from various political parties and NGOs. These individuals serve as representatives on behalf of their respective organizations.
Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari also mentioned that in addition to NGOs, there will be allocations for village chiefs known as ‘ketua kampung’. Currently, Selangor has a total of 371 village chiefs, including those from the new villages.
He made this statement during the launch of the state’s Kempen Kibar Jalur Gemilang at Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Aziz in Shah Alam on Tuesday (Aug 22).
