KUANTAN: Police have apprehended a man in Bentong on Monday (July 17) who is believed to be the mastermind behind a robbery against his wife. Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar revealed that the suspect’s involvement was discovered after the arrest of three men suspected of being involved in the robbery.
During questioning, it was discovered that the 47-year-old man orchestrated the robbery in order to make insurance claims. This information was shared by Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar in a statement on Wednesday (July 19).
The incident began when the police received a report regarding a robbery in the Taman Hijau housing area in Karak, Bentong. The report stated that three masked men had threatened a 42-year-old housewife, ransacked her house, and escaped with her jewellery worth RM16,000. The victim was alone at home at the time as her mother, husband, and child were visiting relatives.
Two men, both 33 years old, and a 24-year-old foreigner were apprehended by the police in Nilai, Negri Sembilan at around 9.30pm. Additionally, a car used by the suspects was seized during the operation. The Bernama news agency reported the police’s successful actions.
