KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, the Tasek Gelugor MP and former information chief of Bersatu, announced that the party’s MPs and members will engage in discussions regarding the decision of their Labuan colleague to support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. A formal announcement will be made after the discussion takes place.

Wan Saiful stated, “There will be a discussion soon among the party members and MPs. I believe the party will make an announcement that suits the outcome (of the discussions),” during a press conference held at the Dewan Rakyat media room on Monday (Oct 30).
Bersatu’s Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman had earlier released a statement expressing his support for the unity government led by Anwar. Upon making the decision, Suhaili emphasized the longstanding unresolved issues on the island of Labuan and the consecutive years of suffering due to the increasing cost of living. However, he affirmed his loyalty to the party and remains a member of Bersatu.

Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid, the Kuala Kangsar MP from Bersatu, had previously declared his support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership. Despite his endorsement, Iskandar Dzulkarnain maintains his loyalty to the party.
