Two more illegal immigrants who escaped from the Bidor Temporary Immigration Depot have been recaptured, adding to the total number of arrests made up to 41 as of Sunday, Feb 4, at 7 am. The Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri has confirmed this news and stated that the two escapees were detained early in the morning on Sunday.
The police chief also confirmed that all those detained were Rohingya escapees and were sent to the Tapah district police headquarters for further action.
On Feb 1, a large number of illegal immigrants, including Rohingya, Myanmar nationals, and Bangladeshi nationals, escaped from the men’s block at the temporary detention depot during a riot. The escapees and the detainee who died in a road accident at KM335 of the North-South Expressway were involved in this incident.
