Tragedy struck in Segamat when a motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with a car on Jalan Muar-Labis on Friday (July 14). This unfortunate incident occurred at around 8.21am, prompting an emergency call to the Johor Fire and Rescue Department operation centre.
The victim, a 24-year-old male, was riding a Yamaha Lagenda motorcycle, while the car involved was a Proton Exora driven by a 21-year-old male. Upon arrival, medical teams from the Health Ministry declared the victim deceased.
According to Labis Fire station chief Muhammad Hafifie Md Sarif, the victim’s body was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation. The car driver, on the other hand, sustained injuries as a result of the accident.
The operation to handle this tragic incident was led by senior officer II Hairisyah Wahid, who was accompanied by 10 firemen from Labis Fire station. The operation concluded at 9.51am, marking the end of their efforts to handle the situation.
