PUTRAJAYA: Sergeant Saidatul Husna Kamarudin had a moment of pride as she successfully completed a remarkable jump over 66 Royal Enfield motorcycles on her scrambler during the 2023 National Day parade held here. This achievement was made even more memorable as it coincided with her 35th birthday and was performed in front of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Amidst thunderous applause from the thousands of spectators at Dataran Putrajaya on Thursday (Aug 31) morning, the King and Queen gave her a standing ovation.
“The vibe was just awesome today and felt completely different from all my other stunts,” said Sergeant Saidatul. “Jumping over 66 Royal Enfield motorcycles before the King and Queen as well as a sea of people on both sides was such an amazing moment. Before attempting a jump, I empty my mind and pray that everything goes smoothly. Having my family in the audience also helped me accomplish this huge task,” she told Bernama on Thursday.
Sergeant Saidatul, who hails from Kedah, has been a part of the Army Red Warrior Motorcycle Acrobatics team for 13 years. She expressed her initial anxiety regarding a few technical problems with the Kawasaki 250cc scrambler she would be riding during the full rehearsal on Tuesday. Fortunately, the mechanics were able to fix it, enabling Saidatul to attempt the jump, which is now her personal and Army Red Warrior record.
“With the cooperation of my teammates, who are like one big family, everything went smoothly. We always support each other to complete each mission and today was a huge one for the nation,” said the mother of one.
Saidatul Husna is recognized in the Malaysia Book of Records for the Longest Motorcycle Jump in the Female category. She achieved this during the tattoo performance held in March at Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, as part of the 90th Army Day celebration. Her jump was the most daring stunt among the other breathtaking motorbike acrobatics performed by the Army Red Warrior team, including formations of a rafflesia flower, the Tugu Negara, and a peacock, as well as acrobatics on an eight-foot ladder. – Bernama
