REMBAU: Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan stated that the decision on whether Sabah BN will go solo or collaborate with another party in the upcoming Sabah state election ultimately lies with the federal Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership. The BN’s deputy chairman emphasized that no decision has been made yet, and Sabah BN must submit its proposal to the central leadership for approval if it wishes to cooperate with other parties.
Despite having administrative autonomy, Sabah Umno still requires approval from the headquarters for election-related matters, according to Mohamad Hassan. The direction of BN parties will be decided by the headquarters, and the decision will be based on the likelihood of winning the state polls, added the Umno deputy president while distributing Ramadan food baskets at the Siliau polling district centre.
Following discussions on possible collaboration between Warisan and Sabah Umno in the 17th Sabah state election, which is scheduled for next year, Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal announced the potential partnership on Saturday.
