KOTA KINABALU: The body of Kevin Lokuman who was last seen on Tuesday last week, was discovered on Monday (Aug 28) after being missing for six days in Kampung Bambangan Lama, Ulu Kiulu. Local villagers made the grim discovery at around 10.30am, approximately three kilometers from the village area, and promptly notified the authorities.
The Fire and Rescue Department team reached the control post at 12.50pm and proceeded to the location where the body was found. Despite the challenging hilly and forested terrains, the team successfully transported the body to the control post using a stretcher. The handover to the police took place at 6.14pm, with the operation concluding ten minutes later, at 6.24pm, according to a spokesperson from the Department.
Last Thursday (Aug 24), Lokuman’s family reported his disappearance when he failed to return home. It was revealed that he had left his family home at 5am on Tuesday without informing anyone about his destination. Subsequently, an integrated search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched, involving multiple agencies as well as members of the public.
