    Bomba mounts search for man feared mauled by crocodiles at Tawau river

    Authorities in Kota Kinabalu have launched a search for a 52-year-old man who is believed to have been attacked by crocodiles at a river in Tawau on Friday (March 29).

    The Fire and Rescue Department received a report at 9.06am about an incident involving the victim, Zulkefli Sunan, at Kampung Sungai Udin.

    According to reports, the victim was crossing the river on a bamboo raft to transport oil palm fruits when he was attacked by a crocodile.

    A team of 10 personnel from the Tawau fire station traveled approximately 45 km to the location and began a search and rescue operation with the help of the police.

    The search and rescue operation covered a 480-square-metre area on land and a 200-square-metre area in the river.

    As of now, the victim has not been located and the operation will continue into Saturday (March 30), as confirmed by a Department spokesperson.
