KOTA KINABALU: A 13-year-old boy has gone missing after slipping from a bridge and falling into a river in Tuaran, near here.
Mohd Hisham Iskandar Azli, the boy who went missing, was accompanied by five friends on the suspension bridge when the incident occurred in Kg Telibung on Saturday (July 8).
The Tuaran Fire Station chief, Mohd Abd Qawie Abdul Gapar, reported that they received a distress call at 2.38pm and swiftly dispatched a team to the location.
Despite ongoing search efforts conducted along the riverbank area, the boy has yet to be found, stated Mohd Abd Qawie Abdul Gapar in a recent statement.
In order to bolster their search operations, the fire station intends to request assistance from the K9 (canine) unit.
The cause behind the boy’s slip and fall into the river remains unclear, prompting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
