An incident occurred in Tanjung Kling, Pantai Puteri, where a 16-year-old boy accidentally reversed a car into an eatery, causing 11 customers to flee in panic. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, which took place at 2.43pm on Saturday (Aug 26), according to Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit.
The teenager’s mother, aged 51, had instructed him to warm up the vehicle’s engine, but he inadvertently drove the car into the eatery. The teenager’s family, who were visiting from Seremban, were also involved in the incident.
During the accident, the multi-purpose vehicle first collided with a parked car before crashing into the eatery, ACP Christopher Patit confirmed. He stated, “The teenager is believed to have accidentally shifted the vehicle after starting its engine.” The entire incident was captured by the eatery’s CCTV cameras.
Currently, no reports have been filed by those involved in the incident. However, the police have launched an investigation under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, as informed by ACP Christopher Patit on Sunday (Aug 27).
