For subsequent rides, users can avail a 10% discount by using the code CELEBRATERESPONSIBLY10, capped at RM30. Carlsberg Malaysia is running its #CelebrateResponsibly campaign for the eighth year in a row as part of its Zero Irresponsible Drinking program. The campaign aims to raise awareness among consumers about the permitted national blood alcohol content (BAC) limit of 0.05% and provide options for safe transportation after consuming alcohol.
Pearl Lai, the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director of Carlsberg Malaysia, stated that consumers can contribute to reducing drinking and driving incidents by choosing e-hailing or chauffeur-on-call services. Through the #CelebrateResponsibly campaign, Carlsberg Malaysia offers consumers the opportunity to measure their BAC levels and share knowledge about their alcohol tolerance. Over the past four weeks, they collaborated with 50 entertainment outlets and reached out to approximately 800 consumers to help them make informed decisions on how to travel home if their BAC exceeded 0.05% and deter drink-driving.
Thirty-three employees volunteered as #CelebrateResponsibly employee ambassadors in support of the campaign. Nicholas Tan, Senior Executive of Corporate and Marketing Activation at Carlsberg Malaysia, expressed his admiration for the volunteers’ efforts and highlighted the growing trend of opting for safer transportation to avoid drink-driving. Shylendra Nathan, CEO of Socar Mobility Malaysia, stated that they were proud to join Carlsberg Malaysia in promoting responsible drinking and road safety. Socar offers a safe and affordable service for consumers to pre-book a professional driver through the Trevo app for short-term transportation needs.
Carlsberg Malaysia has reached out to 5,397 consumers through their #CelebrateResponsibly activations and brewery visits this year. Their mission to achieve Zero Irresponsible Drinking, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3 – Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, includes the deployment of 41 employee ambassadors across five activations and three large-scale music festivals nationwide.
