KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah PKR leader has described Budget 2024 as a compassionate policy, particularly for the lower income group. Sazalye Donol, deputy chairman of the State Leadership Council, stated that the various perks in the budget, such as increased development allocation, higher rubber and electricity rebate, aim to assist the people. In a statement on Saturday (Oct 14), he expressed his satisfaction with the announcements made by the Prime Minister in Budget 2024.
Sazalye, who serves as the Kota Marudu PKR division chief, emphasized the significance of the price increase for rubber. He stated that the news of the increase from RM2.70 to RM3 has been highly anticipated by rubber tappers and farmers within his constituency. As a majority of the people in Kota Marudu are engaged in farming and rubber tapping, this development is particularly beneficial for them.
Additionally, the RM40 electricity rebate has the potential to assist low-income families. Sazalye further praised the overall budget as a comprehensive and compassionate program that can benefit all Malaysians, regardless of their economic backgrounds.
