PETALING JAYA: The government of Putrajaya is set to implement a new scheme aimed at promoting the use of electric motorcycles among individuals earning RM120,000 and below. Under this scheme, individuals will be eligible for rebates amounting to RM2,500.
In his announcement during the Budget 2024 speech on Friday (Oct 13), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also revealed plans to procure 150 electric buses through Prasarana Malaysia Bhd. Additionally, three bus depots will be constructed with an allocation of RM600 million.
Furthermore, individuals who install electric vehicle (EV) charging ports will be eligible for an income tax exemption of up to RM2,500 for a duration of four years. Tax rebates for EV vehicle rentals have also been extended for an additional two years.
