KUALA LUMPUR: The National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) allocation has been increased to RM20mil from RM10mil last year, according to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who presented the Budget 2024 in Parliament on Friday (Oct 13).

The NSRC, established last year, has handled over 49,000 calls and frozen approximately RM60mil in transactions, as stated by Anwar Ibrahim.

Furthermore, Bank Negara Malaysia is collaborating with the financial sector to create a National Fraud Portal by the middle of next year. The portal is intended to facilitate the swift identification, freezing, and repatriation of funds linked to fraudulent activities.
