IPOH: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that healthcare facilities will receive a special focus in Budget 2024. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of improving facilities, such as establishing additional health clinics. He revealed that the Health and Education ministries were allocated the largest portion of the budget in 2023. Anwar highlighted the ongoing efforts to address issues related to school toilets and announced the completion of nine health clinics in Kelantan.
He acknowledged the recurring problem of overcrowding in government hospitals and dismissed accusations that no action has been taken during his leadership. Anwar attributed the lack of progress to insufficient funding and delayed action. He asserted that the government’s primary objective is to enhance and expand health facilities across the country. Further details on the healthcare initiatives will be disclosed on October 13 at the Dewan Rakyat, when the Budget 2024 is presented.
