KUALA LUMPUR: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) has called on civil servants to fully commit to ensuring that the government’s efforts to enhance public service delivery are effectively implemented.
Cuepacs president Datuk Dr Adnan Mat (pic) emphasised that cooperation and coordination among government departments are essential to achieving this objective.
“The government’s commitment to improving the public service delivery system aligns with the introduction of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), aimed at enhancing the quality of public service,” he stated in response to Budget 2025, tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday (Oct 18).
In his speech, Anwar urged public servants to adopt a new work culture to enhance service delivery to the public.
Adnan expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts to increase the disposable income of civil servants, particularly in light of the rising cost of living.
Cuepacs also values the government’s commitment to continue providing the Special Financial Assistance (BKK) of RM500 to all civil servants grades 56 and below, including contract appointments, to be distributed in February next year.
This assistance will aid in preparations for the new school term and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
“The government has allocated BKK every year to public servants since 2013 to express its gratitude for their unwavering dedication in delivering the best services to the people. The Prime Minister’s commitment to continue this assistance is greatly appreciated,” Adnan remarked.
Additionally, the government has agreed to provide RM250 to pensioners next year. – Bernama
