    Budget 2025: Enhanced access to renewable energy

    PETALING JAYA: Several initiatives will be introduced to enhance access to and production of renewable energy, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

    Presenting Budget 2025 on Friday (Oct 18), Anwar who is also Finance Minister, said the Net Energy Metering programme would be extended until June 30, 2025.

    “This extension will allow more rooftops to be utilised for solar photovoltaic (PV) installations,” he said in his speech on Friday (Oct 18).

    The premier also announced the continuation of the Green Technology Financing Scheme, with a RM1bil allocation.

    He also said that UEM Lestra and TNB would invest RM16bil aimed at enhancing the transmission and distribution of networks and to undertake efforts to decarbonise industrial areas.
