Budget 2025: More than RM13,000 yearly for underprivileged families

KUALA LUMPUR: Underprivileged families with three children are eligible to receive cash aid of more than RM13,000 yearly, an RM2,000 increase from RM11,000 currently.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this means that no household has a monthly income of less than RM1,100.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister announced an increase in child assistance rate for poor families at RM250 per child aged six years and under and RM200 per child aged seven to 18.

“Poor seniors are also eligible to receive assistance of more than RM10,000 annually.

“The rate of assistance for the elderly has also increased to RM600 per month from RM500 now,” he said during the tabling of Budget 2025 on Friday (Oct 18).
