Build bridges to resolve traffic jam

Residents of Kota Kemuning have been experiencing traffic congestion for more than a decade.

The traffic problems have been worsened by the developments in Kota Kemuning and the neighboring townships, all of which use the same exit to the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas).

Since there is no public bus or train service in the area, most residents rely on their own cars and must pass through a bottleneck at the Kota Kemuning exit to Kesas before they can reach the nearest train station – LRT Alam Megah, which is approximately 12km away.

We are proposing two solutions that would not only create an additional exit for Kota Kemuning residents as an alternative to Kesas, but also provide a faster way to access the LRT stations.

We suggest building a bridge from Persiaran Anggerik Renantanda that crosses Sungai Klang to Alam Megah, which would be only 3.5km away from Subang Alam LRT station.

Another solution is to construct a bridge from Persiaran Anggerik Aranda that crosses over Sungai Klang to Putra Heights, allowing residents to gain access not only to the Putra Heights LRT station but also to the North-South Expressway Central Link (Elite) and subsequently the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) via Persiaran Harmoni.

If this new bridge is built, residents would greatly benefit by reducing their travel distance to 4km to LRT Putra Heights and 4.5km to Elite.

It is worth noting that the Sungai Klang crossings at both of these points are very short distances (between 1km to 2km), so the construction of a bridge would not be particularly expensive.

This would encourage more Kota Kemuning residents to use public transportation as they would be able to park and ride the train instead of contributing to the traffic congestion leading up to Kesas.

We hope that the newly elected representative, Preakas Sampunathan, will consider these solutions and advocate for us at the state level in order to resolve this longstanding issue.
