SHAH ALAM: The investigation on the circulation of graphic photos purportedly showing the injuries on the body of autistic child Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin will be conducted by Bukit Aman, says Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.
The Selangor police chief said the Bukit Aman CID Special Investigation Unit would investigate the case following a police report.
“It is classified under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act, Section 203A of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he told a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters on Tuesday (July 2).
It was reported that a senior police officer made a report regarding the circulation of the photos at 12:15pm on Sunday (June 30).
Previously, the murder investigation papers of the child went viral on the same application.
On Dec 6 last year, Zayn Rayyan’s body was found in a stream near his residence at Idaman Damansara Damai Apartments at 10pm, a day after he was reported missing.
On June 13, Zayn Rayyan’s parents, Ismanira Abdul Manaf and Zaim Ikhwan Zahari, pleaded not guilty at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court to charges of neglect that likely caused physical harm to the child.
