In George Town, despite the water disruption in the state, the roads are busy with people and market-goers going on their usual morning outing.
On Wednesday morning, some areas saw even more people, with locals heading to Ayer Itam to get their morning food fix as this area still has water supply.

At the Ayer Itam market, people were buying groceries and eateries were packed.
A retiree named Wong BC was having breakfast with friends as his area had no water.
The 67-year-old decided to drive over as he knew the stalls would be open.
“We have had breakfast and packed for lunch as well,” he said.

In town, there was normal traffic flow with the public engaged in their daily routine, prepared for the four-day water cut that began at 6am on Wednesday.
Almost 600,000 consumers will be affected by the water cut scheduled until Sunday (Jan 14).

The supply disruption is meant to allow valve replacement work at the Sungai Dua water treatment plant and repair work at several locations along the main pipeline.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow had said the work to replace the two major pipes was challenging and hoped the public would understand the long-term need to do so.
