PUTRAJAYA: There has been a change in the Malaysian Cabinet as Steven Sim has been appointed as the new Human Resources Minister, while former minister V. Sivakumar has been removed from the Cabinet.
Sim, who previously served as the Deputy Finance Minister II, has now been promoted to a full minister in the cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday (Dec11).
Former deputy works minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohammad has been appointed as the new Deputy Human Resources Minister in this reshuffle.
Likewise, Lim Hui Ying, who previously held the position of deputy education minister, has been appointed as the new Deputy Finance Minister II, replacing Sim.
Additionally, former Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Wong Kah Woh has been named as the new Deputy Education Minister.
The removal of Sivakumar from the Cabinet follows an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over allegations of corruption related to the recruitment of foreign workers.
