PETALING JAYA: The Kepala Batas MCA division has been instructed to intensify its campaigning efforts for Barisan Nasional candidates following the growing support for Perikatan Nasional in the area, according to Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The President of MCA conveyed this message to the leaders of Kepala Batas MCA division during a meeting on Wednesday (Aug 2).

“I encouraged the division to do their best in campaigning for the Barisan candidate to secure more support from voters, as Perikatan is gaining momentum in its campaign in the constituency,” stated Dr Wee on Facebook.

During the meeting, Penang MCA Liaison Committee Chairman, Datuk Tan Teik Cheng, Tasek Gelugor MCA Chairman Yeoh Chin Kah, Permatang Pauh MCA Chairman Teh Cheok Lim, Bagan MCA Chairman Tan Chuan Hong, and Bukit Gelugor MCA Chairman Wong Chin Chong were also present.

Dr Wee expressed his satisfaction in being able to update Kepala Batas MCA members on the latest party developments.

“Kepala Batas MCA Chairman Goh Poh Chuan shared that former MCA President, Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, officiated the opening ceremony of the division 23 years ago.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to visit the division as the party president,” added Dr Wee.

After meeting with Kepala Batas MCA members, Dr Wee and Penang MCA Chief Datuk Tan Teik Cheng adjourned for dinner at a local restaurant in Kepala Batas, during which they delivered a talk.

“I urge the constituents in N02 Bertam to fully support Barisan candidate Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, who is also the former housing and local government minister,” Dr Wee urged.
