Candidate from PBB to be fielded in Jepak by-election

SIBU: Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg announced that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will nominate a candidate from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) for the upcoming Jepak state by-election. The statement was made by the Sarawak Premier during the ground-breaking ceremony for Phase One of the Sarawak Integrated Sour Gas Evacuation System (Sisges) for Shell’s Rosmari-Marjoram Bintulu Onshore Gas Plant on Thursday, September 21. The seat became vacant after the passing of its assemblyman, PBB’s Datuk Talib Zulpilip, aged 72, on September 15. The Election Commission will convene on Monday, September 25, to discuss important dates related to the by-election.
