In Chukai, a nursery teacher and two children sustained minor injuries when a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) crashed into a childcare centre in Taman Sri Cukai. Kemaman District Police Chief, Supt Hanyan Ramlan stated that the driver, a retired army personnel, lost control of the vehicle while reversing out of his house. The incident occurred at approximately 7.30am on Sunday, July 16.

The nursery teacher injured her knee, while the two children, aged one and three, suffered injuries to their face, head, and back. Supt Hanyan Ramlan mentioned that the initial investigation revealed that the 71-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while backing out of his house, causing it to crash into the nursery. The three victims received treatment at Hospital Kemaman. The case is currently being investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
