KLANG: A 23-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in jail for abusing several boys under his care.

The sentence was handed down after Muhammad Barur Rahim Hisam pleaded guilty to four charges levelled against him.

Muhammad Barur – who is a caretaker of a children’s home managed by Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) – was accused of using a cane and other forms of aggression to abuse the boys.

The court ordered the sentences to run consecutively, which means that Muhammad Barur would have to serve out the decade.

According to the facts of the case Muhd Barur had abused three boys aged between 10 and 12-years-old.

The judgement was delivered by Sessions Court judge Noridah Adam.

On Wednesday (Sept 25), Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said a man would be charged at Klang Sessions court on Thursday for allegedly abusing children in one of the care homes linked to the company.

“The suspect, who is connected with a viral video which showed children being abused at a care home linked to GISB, will be charged tomorrow,” he said when contacted on Wednesday.

The suspect will be charged under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

Previously, the police started an investigation over a video, which showed a child being abused.

Police managed to track down the boy, who was among 572 children rescued during Ops Global since Sept 11.

The boy was also one of the children who has been separated from his father since 2021.
