Authorities in Pos Kuala Mu, Sungai Siput have alerted tourists about the presence of tigers roaming nearby. The headman of the Orang Asli village of Bersah, Hadu Long, has advised visitors to avoid entering the area on motorcycles and instead use cars for their safety. He clarified that the reported tiger sightings are approximately 10 kilometers away from the chalets where tourists are currently staying. While the area remains open to tourists, personnel from various agencies, including the police, are monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors.

Yusoff Shariff, the Director of the Perak Department of Wildlife Protection and National Parks, stated that the tigers have not caused any harm or damage. He explained that these tigers are in their natural habitat within the Piah Forest Reserve and may have come out of the jungle in search of food. He advised people to exercise caution and avoid going into the jungle alone, especially after dark. He also emphasized the importance of not provoking or attempting to capture the animals if encountered and suggested using deterrents such as illuminated mosquito repellents. Additionally, he recommended securing livestock.

The presence of a tiger in Kampung Sahom was announced through a viral video from the Kampar District Information Office. Yusoff Shariff confirmed that tiger pug marks were found in the area after receiving a complaint on October 22. In response, the Department of Wildlife Protection and National Parks reminded the residents to remain vigilant. He further mentioned that the tiger may have come from the Sungai Salu Forest Reserve, which connects with other forest reserves extending up to the Titiwangsa Range.
