The first day of the special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Sept 11) was marked by heated exchanges. Chaos erupted when the Opposition bloc demanded to know if their emergency motion to hold a special Parliament sitting for the Attorney General to explain the decision to grant Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) had been accepted.
The commotion was triggered when Wan Ahmad Fayshal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) rose to ask a question. However, before he could do so, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul announced that MPs would be given an opportunity to raise unrelated matters after the special sitting agenda concluded.
