The prosecution against me was an abuse of court process by certain parties, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The Bersatu president, who spoke to the press after his acquittal by the High Court here on Tuesday (Aug 15), said the charges against him were politically motivated and insisted that he had not committed anything against the law.
“I am grateful that this has been proven. We will continue to work and explain to the public that what was done by certain parties was to persecute me,” he said.
Muhyiddin thanked the public and his wife for supporting him and said the acquittal gave him the spirit to continue his fight against injustice.
Earlier on Tuesday, the High Court acquitted Muhyiddin over four charges of power abuse.
He was represented by lawyers Datuk Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, Datuk K. Kumaraendran, Chetan Jethwani and Amer Hamzah Arshad.
