    Chinese premier Li expected to attend business luncheon before leaving Malaysia

    KUALA LUMPUR: Chinese Premier Li Qiang is expected to attend a luncheon with the business community here on Thursday (June 20).

    The luncheon is organised by the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry and the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia among others, and is scheduled to be held at the Shangri-La Hotel here.

    Li will later depart for KL International Airport, where he is set to meet Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul.

    He is then expected to fly back to China after ending his trip in Malaysia.

    Before Malaysia, Li had been to New Zealand and Australia.

    On Thursday, both Anwar and Li had witnessed the signing ceremony of 14 Memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between Malaysia and China.

    Among others, the agreements touch on the export of fresh durians from Malaysia to China starting this year, and a review on visa-free travel.
