KOTA KINABALU: Upko president Datuk Ewon Benedick has called for transparent and racially representative recruitment for the state civil service in Sabah. He expressed concern over complaints about new recruitments not reflecting the racial demographics of the state. Emphasizing the party’s support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Benedick urged the implementation of balanced and transparent policies in various government departments and agencies, including the recruitment of state civil servants. He highlighted the lack of representation from the Momogun community, which comprises ethnic Kadazandusun, Murut, and Rungus peoples, despite their support for the Chief Minister and the Sabah government. Benedick plans to discuss this matter with the Chief Minister.
