The “Maaf Zahir Batin Hari Hari” (#MZB365) campaign serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of preserving national harmony, and civil society organisations (CSOs) are calling on all Malaysians to come together and unite for a common purpose.

The vice-president of the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (Abim), Zairudin Hashim, stated that Abim and its activists and volunteers nationwide will actively promote the campaign in Islamic educational institutions and schools, as well as in associated colleges like Kolej Dar al-Hikmah.

“It is imperative that we join forces to emphasize the message of unity, and this campaign can help foster positive narratives within our society,” Zairudin remarked.

“With 130 branches across Malaysia, Abim is poised to play a significant role in spreading awareness about the campaign, especially through various social media platforms,” Zairudin added.

Zairudin emphasized that the campaign serves as a reminder that national harmony must be safeguarded from divisive actions by groups with self-serving agendas.

“Abim urges all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation, to share pictures or videos showcasing racial unity on their social media platforms using the aforementioned hashtag,” he urged.

“As responsible citizens of Malaysia, it is our duty to spread a message of love and reject sentiments of hate,” Zairudin stressed.

Tawfik Ismail, a member of G25, underscored the importance of public education on the Rukun Negara and the Federal Constitution to foster a deeper understanding of the national principles of tolerance and freedom.

“While most Malaysians are generally accepting and tolerant of one another, it is the unethical politicians and individuals who exploit racial and religious issues for their own gain that cause harm,” Tawfik remarked.
