In Muar, a cleaner has confessed to 19 charges of rape and 11 charges of sexual assault against his two daughters, aged 15 and 12, over six years.

The accused, 53, admitted guilt at the Sessions Court on Sunday (July 16). He raped his daughters starting from the age of 11, in two different houses in Bakri and Jalan Jeram Tepi, since 2018. The last incident occurred on July 9. He also sexually assaulted both victims in the same places and times.

The 19 rape charges fall under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, while the 11 sexual assault charges fall under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. Both are read together with Section 16(1) of the same act.

Judge Abu Bakar Manat has scheduled Aug 8 for the sentencing. Deputy Public Prosecutor Danial Munir requested more time to prepare the case facts and sentencing date.

In another case, Mohamed Hashim Saidin, 77, and his 21-year-old son, a courier, pleaded not guilty to charges of raping a teenager six years ago in 2017. The charges fall under Section 376 of the Penal Code, and the trial takes place in the same court.

At that time, the man and his son were 16 years old. They are accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in a car on May 25, 2017, at 5.15pm. They also allegedly raped her in an open area at Kampung Abdul Rahman Yasin, Kluang, at 6pm on the same day.

The court has set Aug 9 for case mention. Bail of RM12,000 for the son and RM15,000 for the father was granted, but both chose not to post bail. Danial Munir represented the prosecution, while the two accused were unrepresented. – Bernama
