Collapsed goal post kill 11-year-old pupil in Bintulu

An 11-year-old student from Sekolah Kebangsaan St Anthony in Bintulu was killed during a co-curricular activity on Friday morning. The incident was reported to the Bintulu central police station at 7.24am, according to District police chief Supt Batholomew Umpit.

Supt Batholomew Umpit confirmed in a statement that the student suffered severe head injuries after being struck by the crossbar of a goal post that had apparently broken during the activity. The victim was taken to Bintulu Hospital but was pronounced dead by medical personnel. The case has been classified as sudden death.
