The Perikatan Nasional candidate for the Pulai parliamentary seat, Zulkifli Jaafar, is encouraging more young people to participate in the voting process. Zulkifli observed that the percentage of young voters in the polling centers is similar to that of other age groups. He mentioned that more than 20% had already cast their votes by noon, and from his visits to various centers, he saw that the number of young voters is satisfactory. He speculated that the youth might have come out earlier due to the forecast of wet weather, which usually leads them to vote later in the evening. Zulkifli met with reporters after visiting the SK Seri Melati polling center on September 9.
Zulkifli also noted that there are still a significant number of voters who have not yet voted, possibly due to work commitments. As Pulai is mainly located in the city, where a majority of people work, he hopes that they will be able to find some time after lunch to come and vote while the weather is still favorable.
In the Pulai parliamentary seat, Zulkifli is facing competition from Pakatan Harapan’s Suhaizan Kayat and Independent candidate Samsudin Mohamad Fauzi.
