The Communications and Digital Ministry intends to transform the “Keretapi Sarong” flash mob program into an activity for National Month in the coming year, according to Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi Fadzil, the Communications and Digital Minister, stated that the program, which took place on Saturday (September 16), received an encouraging response from over 10,000 participants comprising people of different ages and races.
He further stated, “It’s come to my attention that we may explore the possibility of incorporating it into the National Month activities in the future.
“I hope that next year we can organize more programs for National Month so that it doesn’t just entail hoisting the Jalur Gemilang (national flag),” he assured reporters after the national-level Malaysia Day celebrations at Unity Stadium on Saturday night.
The Keretapi Sarong 2023 program, with its theme of “Ethnicity and Unity,” aims to foster a love for the country through diversity in line with Malaysia Day celebrations. This program has been organized by Looco, an organization that has been promoting cultural activities since 2017.
This year, the program also took place in five major cities, namely Johor Baru (along Sungai Segget), Kota Baru (LaRocka Park), Ipoh (KTMB Ipoh), Kuala Terengganu (Kampung Budaya Terengganu), as well as London, United Kingdom (with Battersea Power Station serving as the final destination). – Bernama
