“A total of 45 office units and nine shoplots were affected.

“In the meantime, the area will be cordoned off as a disaster area and police will be on duty at the site daily.,” he told a press conference during a site visit on Thursday (Aug 17).

He added that the police will also allow tenants to retrieve goods and important documents from their offices except those located on the top floor of the five-storey building.

“We will have to wait for the outcome of the report from the consultant to decide whether cleaning and remedial works can take place.

“Also, we have only received reports from seven car owners.

“The remaining three are urged to make their reports,” Comm Allaudeen added.
