Heavy rain is anticipated in Pekan and Rompin, Pahang on Sunday (Jan 7), according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
At 8.15am, the forecast predicted continuous rainfall in Kuantan, Pahang as well as across Johor.
In response, the National Disaster Management Agency’s (Nadma) National Disaster Command Centre (NDCC) has directed state/district disaster management committees to be prepared to address disasters in high-risk areas.
“The committees are urged to ensure that each temporary relief centre has basic necessities and that the Control Post on Scene (PKTK) is equipped and ready for use,” Nadma said in a statement today.
Nadma, through NDCC, continuously monitors technical information parameters in collaboration with various technical agencies.
