M’sian couple travelled by bike to 15 countries
PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian couple travelled for nine months on a motorbike, passing through more than 15 countries, to attend the Paris Olympics 2024.
The story was shared on their Tiktok account kapcaipackers, as they arrived in Paris earlier this month.
Kapcaipackers posted on their Tiktok on Aug 9, where the couple were seen with their motorbike in front of the Eiffel tower.
“Going to the Paris Olympic via flight.. Going to the Paris Olympic via motorbike…,” their caption said. The video received 10,900 likes and 98,800 views.
The tiktokers, who are known as Alfi and Diana, said they started their ride to Paris in December 2023.
“We’ve ridden more than 20,000km,” said the tiktoker, in a reply to a commenter who asked how far they’ve travelled by motorbike.
In July, they shared videos of them passing through a water festival called Vardavar in Armenia and watching hot air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkiye.
They also shared with viewers the effect of inflation in Iran.
“This is the fastest way to become millionaires or billionaires,” the couple shared on July 6, as they showed stacks of Iranian riyal.
Diana was also seen holding two stacks of cash in her hands, amounting to 30 million riyal to pay for their hotel room.
The couple said they had previously ridden to Russia in 2018, to watch the World Cup.
They shared that to reach Russia, they travelled through more than 20 countries, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Belgium and Luxembourg.
“We camped, stayed in hostels and other people’s house,” they said.
Their latest posting on Monday showed Diana recycling used bottles in Germany for some cash, where they bought two chocolate snacks.
Malaysians online expressed their astonishment and admiration to the couple for travelling the world on a motorbike.
“Congratulations, you’re amazing for travelling to Paris with a motorbike,” said Umairah Homemade.
“I’m inspired to follow your footsteps!” said Affrizal Mohamed.
Another user Jack expressed his disbelief but said he was proud that Alfi and Diana travelled to Paris using a low-powered motorbike (kapchai).
“I’m immediately following you, bro, we have the same passion, adventure and motorcycles. Apparently, there are already people who have ridden long distance via RSX (Honda RS-X Repsol),” he said.
