A police officer who was initially apprehended for involvement in a drug-related offence is suspected of issuing threats to two other police personnel. The officer, who is in his 30s, was brought to the Bukit Puchong police station on Monday (Jan 8) in connection with an alleged violation of Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
According to reports, he allegedly threatened two personnel and their family members while at the station. The incident has been shared on social media platforms and messaging apps like WhatsApp.
Bukit Aman CID director, Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, has confirmed the case, stating, “We have opened an investigation for criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code. The suspect has been remanded for seven days to assist with further investigations,” he told reporters on Wednesday (Jan 10).
Comm Mohd Shuhaily emphasized that even though the case involves police personnel, everyone is subject to the law.
