IPOH: The police in Ipoh have arrested a 17-year-old for allegedly murdering his friend. Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri has identified the deceased as a 21-year-old man who was found murdered on August 20. According to ACP Ahmad Adnan, the suspect and the victim were friends who lived in the same residential area in Teluk Intan. Jealousy is believed to be the motive behind the crime, as the suspect killed the victim because the victim had been bothering the suspect’s 20-year-old girlfriend. The police were able to solve the case within 48 hours and arrested the suspect on August 26 in Hutan Melintang.
Last Thursday, ACP Ahmad Adnan announced that an unidentified man’s body was discovered in a drain at Jalan Pasir Kampung Sungai Payung Baroh in Rungkup. The body was found face-down in a drain near an oil palm plantation by the public at 4.48pm. According to ACP Ahmad Adnan, the body had various injuries on the hands, legs, and neck, and was in a decomposed state, making identification impossible. A post mortem conducted at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital revealed that the victim died from cuts to the head and neck.
The suspect has been remanded for a week starting from the date of his arrest. The authorities are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
