A 57-year-old man was apprehended by the police in Sungkai, Tapah for allegedly molesting a male food delivery rider. The incident occurred on Thursday when the victim was delivering food to a house in Sungkai. The victim, a 34-year-old man, lodged a report with the police claiming that the suspect had molested him by touching his private parts and kissing his cheek at approximately 9:30 pm.
The Tapah District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Naim Asnawi, confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect was taken into custody at 10:30 pm on the same day. The investigation was subsequently conducted, and the suspect was released on police bail at 1 am the following day.
Mohd Naim Asnawi highlighted that the case is currently under investigation under the Penal Code. If found guilty, the offender may face imprisonment for up to ten years, in addition to possible fines or whipping as punishment.
