Two men have been arrested for hacking the digital menu board of a fast food restaurant in Kuala Langat. Police believe that the same duo is responsible for hacking another fast food restaurant in the same area. Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that the two suspects have been remanded to assist with further investigations. The arrest came after a report was made by the restaurant manager on October 31.

An investigation has been initiated under Section 504 of the Penal Code for intentional insult and provocation, as well as Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for insult with the intention to disturb the peace. The suspects, both aged 26 and locals, were apprehended in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. The police also confiscated their mobile phones as part of the evidence.

This incident follows the hacking of the digital menu board of a different fast food restaurant in Kuala Langat. The authorities suspect that the same suspects were responsible for this previous hacking as well. Investigation into the hacking of the two menu boards is still ongoing.

Full details of the hacking incidents have not been disclosed, but it is evident that the hackers managed to gain unauthorized access to the restaurant’s digital menu board and made changes to its content. The motive behind the hacking remains unknown.

The hacking of digital menu boards poses a concern for fast food restaurants, as it raises questions about the security of their systems. It is important for businesses to enhance their cybersecurity measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
