Police have detained three men in connection with a fight that occurred in front of a Hindu temple in Alma on Sunday (Sept 17). Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Cheng Shan stated that police discovered two video clips of the fight, uploaded by an individual named “nanmanjoi8715,” on Monday (Sept 18) morning. “The video clips showed a group of men fighting in front of a temple… in Central Seberang Prai district,” he added. These videos, 27 and 14 seconds long, have received 37 likes, three comments, and 15 reposts.
According to ACP Tan, an investigation found that the incident took place at 12.05am during a religious event at the temple. The police officers on duty at the scene apprehended the three suspects within the temple’s compound. The suspects, aged between 21 and 25, have been remanded until Wednesday (Sept 20) to assist in the investigation. ACP Tan stated that the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for affray.
