Police in Petaling Jaya have taken statements from six individuals in relation to the death of a two-month-old baby girl at a daycare centre in Kota Damansara. Among those interviewed were the victim’s family members and staff members of the daycare centre. Investigation into the matter is ongoing, pending the receipt of the post-mortem report. The incident occurred on October 10, and a woman in her 40s, who is a foreigner married to a local man and works as a babysitter at the daycare centre, was arrested and subsequently released on police bail. The case is being classified under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

The victim’s father, Faizul Ali Adam, received a call from the daycare centre informing him that his daughter was unconscious. She was then rushed to a hospital in Kota Damansara where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The body was later referred to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for a post-mortem examination. After reviewing CCTV footage which allegedly showed negligence on the part of the babysitter, Faizul filed a police report.
