KUALA LUMPUR: The police have rescued a foreign woman who was kidnapped due to a suspended business deal, according to Bukit Aman.

At a press conference on Thursday (Sept 21), Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain mentioned that the complete details of the case will be disclosed by the Penang police on Friday (Sept 22) during a press conference. He referred to the current revelation as a mere “teaser”.

The successful rescue operation was carried out by a collaborative team consisting of members from Bukit Aman, Penang, and Selangor police departments.

“A foreign individual was involved in a business matter that was abruptly halted. Consequently, a family member was kidnapped,” stated Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, adding that the victim was freed earlier this week.

He further emphasized that this achievement serves as evidence that the police continue to actively investigate cases beyond the realm of 3R issues.

“This is one of the endeavors we have been engaged in while simultaneously addressing 3R cases,” he conveyed.

When pressed for more specific information, Comm Mohd Shuhaily opted to keep it discreet, mentioning that Penang police will provide further details on Friday.
