Police seized 36,200 yaba pills and 183g of syabu worth RM398,600 in two separate operations as part of Ops Tapis in Tanah Merah, on Saturday (Sept 9).

Tanah Merah OCPD Supt Mohd Haki Hasbullah reported that the first operation took place at a house in JPN Housing near Batu 11 at 6pm.

“A 46-year-old man present at the house was apprehended by the police.

“Upon inspection, authorities discovered 200 pills suspected to be yaba pills and 183g of drugs suspected to be syabu with an estimated value of RM 38,600,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 10).

Supt Haki stated that the second raid was conducted at 6.45pm by a team from Tanah Merah Narcotics CID after arresting a 29-year-old local man who was riding a motorcycle in Kampung Batu Gajah.

“Upon inspection, authorities found six yellow packages containing 36,000 reddish and green pills suspected to be yaba pills, estimated to be worth RM360,000,” he added.

Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine, according to Supt Haki.

“Both of them have been remanded from today until Saturday (Sept 16) to aid in the investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he stated. – Bernama
