The police have announced that the organisers of the Women’s March 2024 will be summoned for questioning, according to Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya.
Assuming their responsibility, the police have initiated an investigation under Section 15 of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. As a result, the organisers are required to appear before authorities.
During the march on Saturday (March 9), participants made their way from the Sogo shopping centre to Dataran Merdeka, advocating for gender equality and an end to gender-based violence.
The group also advocated for parity in political involvement across “all levels of decision-making” and gender-inclusive nationality legislation.
